According to several security sources, one person was killed in the explosion of an ammunition bunker on Monday October 2 in Bobo-Dioulasso, western Burkina Faso.
Reports from the scene of the incident which took place in the camp of Ouezzin Coulibaly in Bobo Dioulasso indicate that one person was killed on the spot and another person wounded. For now, the extent of the damage has not been revealed.
In recent weeks, Burkina Faso has experienced a spiral of incidents marked by repeated attacks on the positions of the defense and security forces. Several gendarmerie brigades, mostly located in the north, on the border with Mali, have been assaulted by unidentified individuals.
On Monday morning, a group of armed men attacked the gendarmerie station in Nassoumbou, near the Malian border. In December the Ansarul Islam founded by the radical preacher Malam Ibrahim Dicko had attacked the same place, leaving twelve soldiers dead.
