The Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa (IHRDA)July 25 launched Mali’s profile on its online Sexual Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) database.
The primary aim of this database, available at http://sgbv.ihrda.org/country/mali/is to complement efforts of domestic, regional and international actors and stakeholders in curbing SGBV by easing access to relevant legal resources.
The Development of Mali’s profile on the database was supported by the Association pour le Progrèset la Défense des Droits des Femmes (APDF) in Mali, with funding from OSIWA. Other countries on the database include the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Uganda and The Gambia.
Chairperson for Mali’s National Human Rights Commission, Kadidja Sangaré, presided over the event. Also present at the ceremony, Gaye Sowe, executive director IHRDA, women leaders and civil society representatives.
