The Central Office for Narcotic Drugs of Mali calls it a “baron of cocaine trafficking” in the subregion. This Guinean national who was arrested last week is now charged with “illicit trafficking in narcotics”.
The man was at the head of a network of traffickers of which three other members were also arrested.
Born in Côte d’Ivoire, he has Guinean nationality. The man more commonly called by his nickname Rouzo, often wields his Malian identity card, a false one. Forged, according to the Central Narcotics Bureau, a great baron of hard drug trafficking, like cocaine and heroin, his network would be fed from Guinea Conakry and Guinea-Bissau.
Rouzo, 33, works with mules in charge of transporting and selling the goods. Three of his dealers and accomplices were also arrested. A large quantity of drugs was seized for an estimated value of more than 50 million CFA francs.
Today, in this case, the investigators are actively looking for a clandestine drug-processing laboratory in the Malian capital. They are also interested in the lifestyle of the very wealthy leader of the arrested network: luxury cars, plush villas in Bamako … The research and investigation team wants to move quickly, especially that it fears pressure to stifle the case.
