Côte d’Ivoire: Shooting in Abidjan and Bouaké on Friday

Sporadic fire was heard on Friday, May 12 in the cities of Abidjan and Bouaké, creating panic in the second city where banks, schools and businesses were closed.

Only a few hours after those heard the day before, the shooting resumed in Bouaké this Friday morning. Shots were also heard in Abidjan, Friday morning on the side of the new camp of Akoudo and the Plateau, not far from the General Staff of Army Camp.
Remember that these shots follow the statement yesterday Thursday 11 May of Sergeant Fofana who, speaking on behalf of the “mutiny” soldiers of last January, asked the President of the Republic for forgiveness while indicating that he and his friends were renouncing their financial demands.

A statement that was not to the liking of some of his comrades who immediately reacted by going out in the streets armed “Who is he? It is stage managed, we want our money, there is no case of forgiveness or excuse,” angrily stated one of the mutineers joined Friday morning.
