The Gambian Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, OusainouDarbo and Russian Foreign MinisterMickhailBagnodov yesterday, May 4 signed a bilateral agreement for visa exemption of official passport holders.
The move is expected to facilitate free movement for officialsand businesses to move between the two counties.
During a press conference, OusainouDarbosaid the diplomatic relations between The Gambia and Russia is stronger and that this will opens doors for the citizens of the two countries.
Conveying the gratitude and best wishes of Russian President Vladimir Putin to President Adama Barrow, the Russian Foreign Minister added that Russian is happy with the new developments in The Gambia and noted that with stability there will be socio-economic development and a conducive environment for good collaboration between the countries.
The two ministers noted that they have a common agenda to fight terrorism and drug trafficking. And added that they consult regularly on trade, tourism, training and security. It was noted that the common agenda of terrorism and drug trafficking was also their concern.
