Chadian women, like other women in the world, celebrated International Women’s Day on 8 March.
The N’Djamena National Square served as the framework for day’s commemoration through a large procession
Under the watchful eye of Prime Minister Pahimi Padacké Albert, women from all socio-professional and cultural corporations paraded for more than two hours. At the rhythm of music band of the mayor of N’Djamena, the women of the national police took the lead, followed by those of the national gendarmerie and other state, parastatal and non-state structures.
In a symphony of colors of the clothes of March 8, the women displayed banners with messages claiming for their rights, their empowerment and the denunciation of the discriminations of which they are victims. The first lady, Hinda Deby Itno, praised the commitment of the Chadian woman and called for her recognition insociety.
