The Assistance and Human Rights Foundation (AHR) is fighting against infant mortality due to the lack of blood supply. This is the meaning given to the “Zero Child Deathsover Lack of Blood” campaign, which the president of the AHR Foundation officially launched this Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the CEG Atrokpocodji in the commune of Abomey Calavi.

Monday, August 14, NathanaëlKoty handed a 150-pocket blood voucher to the pediatric unit of the CNHU in Cotonou.

The consequences of the unavailability of blood in health facilities are known to all. Among them, infant mortality is high. Alarming statistics in hospitals and health centers provide information on the extent of this state of affairs and there is an urgent need for action.

In launching the campaign “Zero Child Deathsover Lack of Blood” President Nathanael Koty said the Foundation’s initiative is to equip blood transfusion services. The objective of the campaign is to mobilize 10,000 blood bags that will be made available to blood transfusion services. It will take place from August 1 to 31, 2017 in five major cities of Benin namely Cotonou, Abomey, Porto-Novo, Parakou and Djougou.

At CEG Atrokpocodji, launch site 107 blood bags were collected. 48 hours later, the president of AHR NathanaëlKoty went to deliver 150 pockets of blood to the pediatrics of National CNHU Hubert Maga National Center of Cotonou.

Received with joy by the head of department Professor Mohamed RAHIMY according to whom the Foundation AHR has seen right and that the timing is well chosen because there is a high demand for blood products. Nathanael Koty urged people to donate blood to save the lives of children who are languishing on pediatric beds.
